Why Arnold Schwarzenegger is the TRUE GREEN WORLD LEADER!

I have had a few  great linkedin  discussions  about Arnolds role in leading the

world into a sustainable future ,most people have no idea about his
environmental track record since 2006!  About his Green Product Innovation Institute, about his R20 Organisation in Switzerland about Sustainia…and more great things he is doing….

I know how great Arnold is not just for the environment bus also when it comes to promoting health
and other social issues!

Everybody who  has been following me can see how i am connecting more and more sustainable changemakers i am realy proud to be connected to the worlds best experts but the more difficult part will be how do we work together?!  Thats where i see the role of a new GREEN WORLD LEADER! You can find many in the long list of John Elkington his role of honor but there is one person missing Arnold Schwarzenegger! http://thezeronauts.com/roll_of_honor.html Arnold is the true green world leader! He is the TERMINATOR of business as usual and if you look at this R 20 Organisation with Christophe Nuttall,as R20 Executive Director you can see the role that Arnold will play in leading the world into a realy sustainable future! Its incredible what he did in California driving his republican friends and the industry crazy! If you ask Arnold who made him care this much he will give you the name Terry Tamminen. the master mind behind many of Arnolds GREEN initiatives! Starting from the Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute R 20 and many more! Kudos to Arnie and his team for leading the way! Nobody can sell sustainability like Arnie can..In Vienna last week the UN said if we call for a meeting 100 people follow the call if Arnie calls 1000 people follow! He has the power and the will to CHANGE the WORLD and i am sure that he will like no other world leader! He is the GREEN WORLD LEADER!

Many  people can't see Arnold Schwarzenegger as a role model for sustainability...i can because i have been following every single step he made since 2006! Check his track record in California! Governor Schwarzenegger's most notable accomplishments include a bipartisan agreement to reduce California's greenhouse gas emissions by signing landmark legislation in 2006, increasing the minimum wage while lowering the state's unemployment rate and overhauling the workers' compensation system - cutting costs by more than 35 percent. In addition, Governor Schwarzenegger is the first governor in decades to make major investments in improving California's aging infrastructure through his Strategic Growth Plan, helping to reduce congestion and clean the air. He established the Hydrogen Highway and Million Solar Roofs Plan, continuing his leadership in creating a greener environment. California is 40% more Energy Efficient than the rest of the USA 40%! And where is OBAMA when it comes to lead the world on Renewable Energy? The time is now for us to go beyond simply being “less bad”and to lead the world in the invention and innovation of “more GOOD” with Cradle to Cradle products and a prosperous Cradle to Cradle economy! Hans, your post is really great.. I was not aware that the body-builder Arnold is now actually busy in building a safe environment ! I am certainly surprised that most of the world are unaware of the beautiful model of R20, thanks to the PRESS! . Thanks to you. I must acknowledge that you are the first one to let me know the great work Arnold does. I really admire the idea of 'cradle to cradle' that is not limited only to products but also extends to entire world economy. R20 is aimed at low carbon climate resilient projects. Fantastic! But, in order to develop into a global entity I feel that besides 'environment' it also needs to include 'social aspect' in its mission. This rearrangment is needed particularly in developing countries where besides environmental challenges, social issues and community development are on priority. Thanks again! Hans Lak

My answer to him:  don't be afraid that Arnie forgets the social in his mission! You should realy learn more about him and his director at the R 20 who has been working for UNDP, the UN's global development network, partners with people at all levels of society to help build nations that can withstand crisis, and drive and sustain the kind of growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. He has shown his leadership on social issues for decades think about his role for the special olynpics,,,,Arnold Schwarzenegger has been involved with the Special Olympics for many years, In 1995, he founded the Inner City Games Foundation (ICG) which provides cultural, educational and community enrichment programming to youth.[156] ICG is active in 15 cities around the country and serves over 250,000 children in over 400 schools countrywide.[156] He has also been involved with After-School All-Stars, and founded the Los Angeles branch in 2002. ASAS is an after school program provider, educating youth about health, fitness and nutrition. His many accomplishments have earned him the praise of numerous organizations, including the Simon Wiesenthal Center's "National Leadership Award" for his support of the organization's Holocaust studies. Schwarzenegger was the only actor to be in both categories of the American Film Institutes Hundred Years of Heroes and Villains. In 2002, Schwarzenegger was given the esteemed honor of the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award, presented to him by Ali, a longtime friend and sports mentor. All the people who can't see how Arnie can be a role model should simply open their eyes! He is the GREEN WORLD LEADER working bottom up to change the world!

Many people can’t see how Arnold is a role model for sustainability! I can and I hope that soon the entire world can see what I can see… THE TERMINATOR OF BUSINESS AS USUAL!
